Based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, this movie is directed by Clint Eastwood. Sean Penn (I am Sam), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption ), and Kevin Bacon (Footloose) star in the movie.
The lady who sit next to me thought that this movie is depressing, there is no feel good ending. But I thought it is a good movie. Clint Eastwood did a good job. The story is interesting (I bet the book is better), and all three actors gave a solid performace. I especially imppressed by Mr Penn.
Look what I found on the net --> http://www.tracyhyde.net/.
I was looking for Melody, my first romantic comedy movie. I saw this movie when I was about 10 or 11. It was made in 1971 and the soundtrack is by the Bee Gees. It's about a couple of 10 year olds who were madly in love and decided to get married. awhat is interesting about this movie is that the whole story is told from children point of view. I remember I had a big crush on Tracy Hyde ... -)
I google the movie and found the only english language website dedicated to this movie. I couldn't find the movie on Netflix and Amazon, but were able to order the last copy of the soundtrack from Amazon.
Went to the Mezzanine last night with Jin and James to see round 2 of the Asian American Idol. It's okay 'lah'. More like a Karaoke contest to me :-) There were 10 contestants but only two that I think are good (of course I only saw contestatn number 4 through 10).
The event is only one hour (10 - 11), but we stayed there until 1:30. Jin gave me a Hennessy shot (actually it's half shot of Henessy), which remind me of Ciandra. We used to buy that when we were roomies in Santa Clara.
Before we went home, we ate at Yuet Lee AKA Warung Ijo in the China town district. We had Clam with black bean sauce, Kay Lan, and beef something (I think it's called Peking something). Good food and pretty cheap.

Crap! I got a speeding ticket this morning. I went 48 on 35 mph street. I guess I'm going to traffic school soon...
Okay, I'm back. I've been missing for a week, because I had a cold, right after I got back from my Fresno weekend... :-(
So, here's what's been happening this week:
The Governator of California
Gray Davis was recalled last Tuesday and Arnie won the ellection. Damn Republican!

Pallace Korean BBQ
Cyn, Dex, Cherry, and I went to dinner at The Pallace Korean BBQ Wednesday night. Nice Dinner. Good food. Enjoyable Conversation. Next outing: Todai Seafood
DVD Marathon
Jin and I were going to see Kill Bill on Friday night, but when we went there the theater is already packed. We exchanged our tickets to House of the Dead, but then Jin didn't feel well, so we went to Blockbuster, pickup some movies and went home. We watched The Evil Dead, House of 1000 Corpses, and Malibu Most Wanted.
I was feeling better that day, but when I woke up Saturday morning, I started feeling headache. So I ended up staying home all weekend (I was supposed to go to the Asian American Idol). I watched Confidence, and four episodes of Sex and The City Season Four. I didn't go out until Sunday eveneing to go to Tante Meekness place to fix her internet problem.
Went to Fresno this weekend to Vonni and Eric's 21st Birthday Dinner at the Golden Dinasty. There were about 30 of us in three different tables. The restaurant is not that big, so we pretty much fill up the place. Good food and I had a good time.
Then we went and hung out at this little coffee place and listened to live music. At about 10:30 we went to this little club to try and get all the kids drunk. The place is ok, not my kind of crowd, though. I'm not crazy about the music either. The DJ suck so bad, I can't even move to the music (can you believe that!). But the kids had lots of fun. Several of them got wasted. It's funny watching them talking and trying to walk.
Went back to San Jose on Sunday after Dim Sum (hmmm... finally, a great Dim Sum... haven't found a good Dim Sum place here in SJ). All in all I had a great weekend. Happy Birthday kids. Thanks for inviting me... :)
Dude, what the hell are you doing?
(The whole gang minus me)
Note: All pics are taken when we were still at the restaurant.
Currently in Fresno, and just saw a tape from Fresno's welcoming party. They did a little show called PERMIAS Idol, a parody of American Idol. Good job. Can't believe they outdone themselves.
Funny stuff! Embarasingly hilarious performance... Especially Eric (as 50 Cents) and Vonni (Avril Lavigne). Hahaha... Can't stop laughing... Kudos guys... Kudos! I wish I have photos that I can post here.
We had dinner at The Chessecake Factory at Oakridge Mall. Bad timing! It was the grand opening of the newly renovated Mall. People from all over San Jose went there. It took me 20 minutes to find parking. We waited for 2 hours to get a table, and another 30 minutes waiting for the food.
It was a nice dinner, though. Good food, good service, and great dessert. I had fun. Thanks Erica for inviting me, and thanks Oom and tante for the Dinner...
Waiting for Table
(l-r: Erica, Yaya, Jin, Tante Linda, and Oom Chris)
Yada... yada... yada... I'm eating!
(Yaya, Brandon, and Jin)
The funny Ms. Price from NBC's new show Coupling (the American version of BBC's sitcom.)
Well, not really... I just found out that the house of the person that I work for is up for sale.
I've been looking to replace my old Palm III for a long time (I had that PDA since 1998, it's time for me to upgrade.) I thought about Sony Clie, Sharp Zaurus and even Pocket PC devices (iPaq or Axim).
Today PalmOne introduced two new Tungstens (Tungsten T3 and Tungsten E) and a Zire (Zire 21). I like T3 a lot. It has 400MHz Intel XScale™, 64MB of storage, and the feature that I like a lot is the screen size, which has 320x480 resolution (when opened) and you can rotate it to landscape view.
I went to Palm's Corner at Valley Fair Mall today and tried it. Very Cool!!! I like it a lot. I have added it to my Amazon wish list. So if any of you are feeling generous today. Please feel free to buy it for me... :-).
Oh, and if you buy one one for yourself after you read my blog, please make sure you credit me when you validate your product. My Palm Champion email address is aviheidir@hotmail.com. :-)
